So, Quentin, could you share a bit about your background and the journey that led you to establish your own fragrance house? What were your main goals, and what is Qhue Lifestyle’s ethos?

Absolutely. My journey into the world of fragrances began with a deep fascination for the power of scent to evoke emotions and memories. I have always been passionate about exploring different cultures and their unique olfactory signatures and also how scent relates to fashion and art. This passion led me to study perfumery on my own, where I honed my skills by teaching myself the art of fragrance. Having a background in design and fashion really help me prefect this skill as I have a natural ability to create.

The idea to establish my own fragrance house, Qhue, stemmed from a desire to create scents that are not just perfumes but experiences. I wanted to craft fragrances that tell a story, resonate deeply with the wearer, and leave a lasting impression. My main goal was to break away from the conventional and mass-produced, focusing instead on quality, uniqueness, and authenticity.

Qhue Lifestyle’s ethos revolves around the belief that fragrance is an art form. And we stay true to that ethos from everything that we create, from the cement packaging to the ingredients in the product it’s all done very artfully with intention. We are committed to using the finest ingredients and innovative techniques to create complex and captivating scents. Of course! My creative process begins with inspiration, which can come from anywhere—a beautiful city landscape, a piece of music, a work of art, or even a specific emotion. Once I have a concept in mind, I start by selecting the raw materials that best capture the essence of that inspiration.

I have a particular affinity for natural ingredients, as they bring a richness and complexity to the fragrances. Ingredients like sandalwood, bergamot, lime and jasmine are some of my favorites due to their versatility and depth. However, I also enjoy experimenting with unique and rare elements to create something truly distinctive.

The process involves a lot of experimentation and refinement. I blend different notes, test their interactions, and adjust the composition until it aligns perfectly with the vision I have. It’s a meticulous and iterative process, but the goal is always to create a harmonious and evocative scent.

As for a signature style, I lean towards creating fragrances that are complex yet balanced, with a focus on storytelling through scent. Our fragrances often feature layered compositions that reveal different facets over time, offering a dynamic and evolving olfactory experience. We strive to create parfums that are not just pleasant but also memorable and impactful. Qhue’s distinctive style is rooted in elegance, sophistication, and a touch of the unexpected. The cement detail was someone of an ode to NYC for being known as the concrete jungle, so maintaining the same sleek and minimalistic vibe across all our products was crucial. We believe that simplicity and elegance allow the quality of our fragrances to shine through without distraction. This consistent aesthetic also ensures that all Qhue products seamlessly are connected and fit into any setting, whether it’s a chic urban apartment or a cozy country home.
